Ode to the trains of the South

The Conseil Général of the Deux-Sèvres and Tito Gonzalez Vega, director of the INCLA ( Latin American Cultural Institute) and curator of the exhibition wished to pay an outstanding tribute to the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda ( 1904-1973 )...

Organized in the cities of Niort, Melle and Thouars, this event gathered 58 pluriformes artists of whom Federica Matta. For this occasion, she was invited to create a series of eight kakemonos based on the poem of Neruda: " ode to the trains of the South ", kakemonos which will then be exhibited in the station of Thouars from March 22nd till April 12th, 2012.

On the other hand, 27 drawings of Federica Matta will be shown within the station to allow the visitors to discover the original works associated to these eight kakemonos.
