Plaza Brasil

Unveiled in Santiago, Chile, in 1993, this set of 22 sculpture-playthings, made of acrylic-painted concrete, evoke themes of Chilean identity. The project was a joint collaboration by the city of Santiago, local industrialists (who supplied the materials), and the artist. As plans progressed, neighborhood residents were consulted in the goal of offering kids a place of fun and freedom in the city. More...
