Federica Matta was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, on July 8, 1955. She has traveled to Greece, Italy, Spain, the United States, Africa, Mexico, Guatemala, Switzerland, India, England, Nepal, Peru, Sicily, Chile, Brazil…and elsewhere.

Federica MATTA is one of the founder members of the Tout-Monde Institute created by Edouard Glissant in 2007; she is also "nomadic artist" with M2A2, the Museum from Martinique of the Arts of the Americas.

Quelques instants plus tard(A few moments later…), collective exhibition gathering 40 duets of artists and comic strip writers together.
